Jaime is a grassroots candidate running to represent the working class of the East Bay and is the only candidate who has pledged to not accept any corporate PAC money in his People Powered campaign
An American Story: Jaime overcame a life of struggle and scarcity, worked his way through college and graduate school, and today is an organizer, a non-profit advisor and a small business leader in his community
(Castro Valley) – Jaime Raul Zepeda launched his people-powered, corporate PAC free campaign to bring a voice to working class communities of State Senate District 10, one year from the June 7, 2022 primary election. He is running as a progressive Democrat.
“Our state government must better represent the life stories of its people,” said Jaime Raul Zepeda. “I came to America from Mexico alone with a few dollars and in pursuit of the American Dream. Today, I use my privilege to serve my community. I’m running to bring my working class voice to Sacramento. I’m confident we can work on our biggest challenges together.”
As a community leader, Jaime has assembled diverse coalitions and mobilized resources to house the unhoused, keep immigrant families together, give thousands of poor students a 21st century education, and get hundreds of young people ready to be leaders in their communities.
Jaime is not a career politician and does not intend to be. He will stand up against powerful special interests groups. He’s solely focused on his community and the public’s interest. His willingness to be open minded and inclusive is reflected by the Bay Area community leaders who endorse him:

Jaime’s vision is to rebuild right in California after COVID-19 by making education funding a top priority every year, launching a Marshall Plan to help all working families have a path to the middle class, promoting a more transparent and responsive government, being more bold on building a green economy, and erasing the obscene income inequality in our state.
Jaime’s American Story:
Jaime came to the United States from Mexico alone as a teenager. He went to high school during the day and mopped floors at night. For years he was poor and in debt. Today, he’s a small business leader, a non profit advisor, and a community organizer. As a small business executive, he helped companies of all sizes build organizations that do well financially and do good for their community. He’s on the Board of Citizen Schools, which helps thousands of low-income students get a 21st century education. He’s an advocate and fundraiser for Bay Area Community Services, National Immigration Law Center, Ruby’s Place, and Students Rising Above. He graduated from St. Mary’s College at the top of his Politics Department, and has an MBA from Haas School of Business, where he funded programs that helped underrepresented minorities afford a graduate degree, and created and endorsed more ethical business models.
